How Pory sets it up

Pory gives every donor and development team a sign-in of their own. Each donor sees only their own pledges. It covers giving history, pledges and impact updates. Pledges, installments, forms, supporter events, shared with you, donors and your contacts live in Pory's own database, so there's no spreadsheet to keep in sync.

Donors see each pledge and what's still outstanding on it

Donors who asked where a pledge stood got a letter from the finance team two weeks later. In Pory each donor signs in to their own pledges: the fund, the amount pledged, what's outstanding on that pledge and when the next installment is due. The development team stops answering the same balance question by mail.

Impact updates donors read in the portal, not a glossy PDF

Impact reports took a quarter to produce and arrived as a PDF most donors skimmed on their phone. In Pory the team posts short impact updates on a page donors see when they sign in: a school joining the reading program, a library club reopening. Donors hear what their pledge did while it's still news.

Donors hear before an installment is due, and thank-yous don't slip

Reminder letters and thank-you cards both depended on one person's calendar, and both slipped in busy months. In Pory each pledge carries its next installment date and a thank-you date: the donor gets a reminder in the portal and by email before the installment, and the team is reminded when a thank-you is due. The Christmas thank-yous stop going out in February.

Frequently asked questions

A donor signs in with a link sent to their email and lands on Home. They see Home, My pledges, Impact updates, Giving to Open Book and Events, and only the pledges that are theirs. From there they can use “Upload a form”.

Only the development team. It's hidden from donors: it doesn't appear on their pages or in the records they open.

You invite them. Each person gets a sign-in link by email, with no password to set, and lands in the role you chose for them.
